Description
David Selvas (Àngels a Amèrica, Hedda Gabler) directs a text by Arthur Miller inspired by Henrik Ibsen about what happens when people have to take moral and legal responsibility for others.
We present Arthur Miller's second play, the success of which led him to dedicate his life to dramatic writing. It is the true story based on real events of Joe Keller and Steve Deever, the owners of an aircraft parts factory which produced faulty parts that caused many deaths during the war. Deever goes to prison, and Keller is exonerated and becomes a wealthy man. Over the years, they and their children suffer from the consequences of the catastrophe, engulfed in a power structure that is almost unbearable. The story is inspired Henrik Ibsen's play The wild duck, which focuses on the issue of taking personal moral and legal responsibility for others.
