25—26 Season

Five different activities to foster theatre practice in the classroom. We want children and young people to enter the stage with a richer perspective and for the theatre to be a learning tool with myriad applications.

    From ages 3 to 7 (nursery school and initial cycle). We bring a kid-sized stage equipped with sound and light to school. The children’s exploration of its possibilities will help them to discover the power of the hands and body through theatrical experimentation.

    From ages 8 to 12 (middle and upper cycles). The box gets bigger and turns into a stage device, a space for inventing stories while learning the different performance disciplines both on- and off-stage.

    We are joining the Escoles Tàndem programme of the Fundació Catalunya - La Pedrera by partnering with La Sedeta School in Barcelona for three years. This first year, the exhibition Fabià Puigserver amb mirada d’infant is being prepared and will be presented at the Gràcia venue after investigating the founder of the Teatre Lliure through artistic resources.

    From ages 12 to 16 (ESO). We are continuing this programme developed by the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona (ICUB) and the Barcelona Education Consortium (CEB) since 2009. An artist teams up with a group of secondary students to create a show that will be performed at the end of the school year. This year, it will be the company José y sus Hermanas.

    From ages 14 to 18. Barcelona City Council’s Institut de Cultura and the Teatre Lliure are promoting the creation of a show by different public schools in the city led by a professional director. The show will premiere at the Espai Lliure in June.

    Long-term training for teachers spearheaded by the six national performance and music venues. It is organised into two sections: a spectators’ school. which will hold six sessions related to the shows in the lineup, and a creation laboratory with the artist Adrià Aubert, the choreographer Cristina Martí and the playwright Julià Vilà, to create a show that will premiere at the Palau de la Música Catalana in June.

    This training is recognised by the Department of Education.
