The first play by the scriptwriter and director Alfredo Sanzol as director of the Centro Dramático Nacional arrives in Barcelona soon after its première. It tells the story of Jorge Arizmendi, a thirty-three-year-old chaplain from Navarre, who in the wake of the changes that took place at the Second Vatican Council 1963, decided to change his life, leave the priesthood and travel to the United States to learn English and marketing.

Max Awards 2021 to the Best theater show, Best playwriter to Alfredo Sanzol, Best setting design to Alejandro Andújar.

Based on the real story of his father, Sanzol creates a story of personal growth and transformation that symbolises that of an entire society: leaving the priesthood in Spain in 1963 was an upheaval in one’s personal, family and political life. This play aims to shed light on and restore dignity to everyone who decided to change their lives and took risks to do so.
