Description
Double program directed by Andrés Lima inspired by Naomi Klein’s The shock doctrine: a trip to explain how psychiatric research from the 1950s and the ultra-liberal theories of Chicago Economic School are used to implant capitalism all around the world. From Chile and Argentina to Iraq, and also to our present.
La tormenta y la guerra [The storm and the war] begins in the 1980s, with the neoconservative revolution led by Margaret Thatcher in Europe and by Ronald Reagan in the United States, and culminates in the first great shock of the twenty-first century: the Iraq war, in which we were all participants. Because that what the shock involves - reflecting on the extent to which we are participants in our history, our shocks, our coups, our violence.
