02/04 audio description

Dies blancs [Blank days] is a show that is loosely inspired by Timothé Le Boucher's graphic novel Ces jours qui disparaissent [Those Days That Disappear]. (Ed. Glénat, 2017, Comic bookstore prize 2018, Prize for the best short story of BDGest'Arts 2018 and BD Prize 2018 Read in Limoges).

On stage, in a "cinema-theatre" format, eight young musical actors who are graduates from the most recent class at the Theatre Institute tell us Andrea's innermost story, and challenge the audience about the concepts of time, integrity, happiness, care and lifelong commitment.

It is 2001. Andrea, a young activist, returns from the Genoa counter-summit where (s)he lost an eye due to police violence. A few days later, (s)he finds that (s)he wakes up every other day with no memory of the day before. S(he) gradually realises that the days (s)he cannot account for are being lived by another personality whose behaviour and actions are very different to his/her own. Andrea starts to fight against his/her alter ego to take back control of his/her entire self.

For the third consecutive season, the Lliure is hosting and co-producing the annual show by the IT Teatre project with the Barcelona Provincial Council Theatre Institute. This time round, the director is Belgium’s Fabrice Murgia, the director of the Théâtre National Wallonie-Bruxelles, who has been at the Teatre Lliure on 2018 with La tristeza de los ogros. The two institutions aim to give a voice and the opportunity for access to the professional stage to the performing arts graduates involved in the IT Teatre project, and offer them the opportunity to interact with leading artists on the current European scene.

To learn more about Fabrice Murgia’s career and way of working, we suggest you watch this video created by the Centro Dramático Nacional.
