The artist and set designer Adriana Parra proposes a workshop for children under 14 that links the performing and plastic arts. An activity by the Lliure to the BCN dibuixa, held every October 25, the day Picasso was born.

We have an assignment!! To design a new group of circus acrobats! We will begin by taking a visual journey through the shared history of painting, dance and circus by looking at works by the Russian avant-gardes, Kazimir Malevich, Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró and Sonia Delaunay, and we’ll end with the circus created by Alexander Calder and his three-dimensional drawings of trapeze artists, strongmen and tightrope walkers. Afterwards, we’ll put shapes and colours made of paper, fabric, ribbons and magazines to cut out on the table. We’ll have to use what we learned from the artists to begin filling the figures of our own tightrope walkers, trapeze artists, contortionists, trick horse riders, strongmen, aerial dancers, jugglers, clowns and more!

We’ll use all of it to make a collage bursting with shapes and colours!
